Greens Café, next to Canoe Lake in Southsea, has been forced to close after a brutal break-in during the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday. Despite no cash being left on-site, the vandals caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage — marking the fourth break-in in just eight months.

Greens Café Shutters Amid Crime Spree

In a tough statement, Greens explained: “Due to another burglary at Greens Café, despite no cash left in the building, we have to close for a few days. There was much damage done inside which needs repairing.” The popular spot urged locals to show support when it reopens later this week.

This latest raid is part of a disturbing crime surge in Southsea. In recent weeks, five other cafés and bars, along with five retail stores, have been targeted. Locals say there’s been no increase in police presence despite the rising attacks.
