A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the back in Southampton’s East Park just before 8pm on Monday, March 4. The brutal assault took place near the Titanic Engineers’ Memorial, sparking a major police response.

Three Arrested After East Park Stabbing

Police quickly arrested three suspects linked to the attack: a 23-year-old woman and two men aged 23 and 24. All remain in custody as officers continue to question them.

The victim is in hospital with serious injuries. Part of East Park has been sealed off while detectives comb the scene for clues.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out

Officers are calling on anyone who saw the stabbing or anyone hanging around the memorial or nearby London Road at the time to come forward.

Chief Inspector Phil Lamb said: “We understand incidents like this cause concern in Southampton. Keeping the city safe remains our top priority. We believe this was a targeted, drug-related attack and there’s no risk to the public.”

Community and Council Team Up to Tackle Crime

Lamb added: “We work closely with Southampton City Council to keep the city safe. Crime linked to drugs is a challenge, but tackling it means working together – not just police alone. We encourage the public to report any concerns.”
