Scarf Horror! Woman Left Fighting for Life After Getting Caught in Beach Buggy Wheels

A nightmare unfolded in Havant on Sunday when a woman ended up in a life-threatening state after her scarf got trapped in the wheels of her vintage 1970s style blue beach buggy. The 65-year-old was cruising down North Street in the open-top vehicle when disaster struck.

Passers-By Spring Into Action

Alert witnesses rushed to help and called emergency services immediately. Paramedics arrived just after 12.30pm, closing off the road to treat the seriously injured woman at the scene. She was then rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham with life-changing injuries.

Emergency Services Reveal Harrowing Details

A South Central Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a woman injured while using an open top vehicle. The 65-year-old had a scarf wrapped around her neck that became trapped in the vehicle.”

“A rapid response paramedic and ambulance were dispatched. The patient received treatment on site before being rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition.”

Emergency crews left no stone unturned to free her and provide urgent care but her injuries are described as life changing. The woman remains under the care of the hospital’s resuscitation team.
