Drug Dealer Nabbed After Daring Police Chase in Kettering
Nicholas Thomas, once from Horsenden Crescent, Ealing, London, was arrested on January 5 after a high-speed run-in with Northamptonshire Police’s Operation Revive team. Officers spotted him in Meadow Road, Kettering, and when asked to stop, Thomas made a swift dash — but the cops were onto him.
Crack Cocaine and Cannabis Seized
Thomas didn’t get far. He was quickly caught and searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Police found a stash of drugs, including crack cocaine and cannabis. He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply the Class A drug crack cocaine, as well as possession of Class B cannabis.
Justice Served: 30 Months for Class A Drug Supply
Appearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on January 6, Thomas pleaded guilty to both charges. On March 30, Northampton Crown Court sentenced him to 30 months in detention for the crack cocaine offence. He received an additional 10 weeks, running concurrently, for cannabis possession. He also faces a £228 victim surcharge.
Cops Rally Against Drug Dealing
PC Joshua Unsworth, lead investigator, said: “I am pleased with the sentence handed to Thomas, and hope this is seen as a deterrent to anyone who is thinking of dealing drugs in Northamptonshire – this will not be tolerated by the Force or our communities.”
“Myself and PC Harry Cory acted on intelligence from the community that revealed Thomas’ drug dealing in Kettering. This evidence brought him to justice, and he pleaded guilty at the first chance.”
“This conviction was a team effort. I’d also like to thank our analytical specialist who helped us close the case and remove another dealer from our streets.”
