Man Jailed for Breaching Restraining Order Just Hours After Issued
John Matthew Jones of Llanberis faced Caernarfon Court on January 4th. He was charged with breaking a restraining order issued only two days prior.
Restraining Order Issued After Serious Charges
On January 2nd, Jones was slapped with a restraining order following charges of assault and controlling, coercive behaviour.
Broke the Rules Hours Later with Threatening Phone Calls
Less than 24 hours later, just before midnight, police were called after Jones reportedly threatened the victims by phone, violating his court order.
Sentenced to 18 Weeks Behind Bars
Jones was swiftly sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for his blatant defiance.
District Support Sergeant Andy Davies said: “Individuals who do not respect orders imposed by the court will be dealt with and made an example of.
“I commend the victim for their bravery to come forward during a frightening experience and hope they are reassured by the sentence imposed.
“Domestic abuse is never acceptable, and we will do everything in our power to bring perpetrators to justice.”
