‘Insane Snail’ Busted: Bromley Dad Caught Running Major Drug Ring
Michael Hall, 60, from The Chase in Bromley South, has been slammed with a hefty seven year and nine month prison sentence. The dad-of-three admitted to masterminding a major drug supply racket dealing cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis, and ketamine.
Crackdown on EncroChat Exposes ‘Insane Snail’
French and Dutch police cracked the supposedly uncrackable EncroChat messaging system used by criminals to trade drugs and guns. Hall’s private chats, handed over to the Met Police, showed he operated as a middleman under the alias ‘Insane Snail’ from January to June 2020.
Drug Veteran with Long Criminal History
Prosecutor Thom Dyke pulled no punches, describing Hall as “not a newcomer to the world of large-scale drugs conspiracies.” The 60-year-old boasts a lengthy rap sheet, including two previous prison spells for cannabis supply – two years in 1997 and eight years in 2011.
Deep Connections to South East Drug Kingpins
At Croydon Crown Court, it emerged Hall used his underworld network to broker deals between major players. One key contact was Jack Tahir from Beckenham, who got 10 years in 2021 for trafficking over £1 million worth of drugs. Tahir, known online as Narrowrifle and Midland Buck, played a major role distributing drugs across the South East.
