A Hastings taxi driver has been found guilty of multiple sex offences following a trial at Lewes Crown Court. The self-employed driver, Alammar, was already on remand for offences committed in April when a second victim came forward, leading to his arrest for a November attack.

Serial Offender Caught: Guilty of Multiple Sex Crimes

Back in October 2025, Alammar was convicted of sexual assault for the April incident but was acquitted of rape and assault by penetration charges. He remained in custody pending trial for the November offences.

Justice Delivered, But Victim Support Still Crucial

On 6 March, Lewes Crown Court found Alammar guilty of the November assault. He is currently in custody and awaits sentencing for both convictions, with the date yet to be announced.

Detective Constable Christina Bales of Hastings Safeguarding Investigation Unit said: “These were serious and predatory offences committed against women who should have felt safe. I would like to commend the victims for their courage in coming forward and supporting the investigation.”

“We remain committed to ensuring victims of sexual offences receive support and that offenders are brought before the courts.”

Police Urge Victims to Speak Out

Police are calling on anyone affected by sexual offences to come forward. Reports can be made online or by calling 101. In emergencies, dial 999. Victims will be listened to, supported, and treated with dignity.
