Man Charged with Murder of 20-Year-Old in Lambeth Stabbing
Detectives have charged a man over the tragic killing of 20-year-old Salem Koudou in Lambeth last week.
Darius Kwakye Held Over Fatal Stabbing
Darius Kwakye, 27, from Prentis Road, SW16, was charged on Thursday, 27 August. He is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today.
The charge comes after a violent incident on the evening of Thursday, 20 August. Police were called at around 7.55pm to reports of a fight near Overton Road, SW9.
Salem Found with Fatal Stab Wounds
Emergency services including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.
Salem was discovered with stab injuries on Wynne Road, SW9. He was taken to hospital but tragically died at 8.53pm.
Others Arrested But Released Pending Investigation
- A 26-year-old man, found stabbed on Overton Road, sought hospital treatment and has been discharged. Initially arrested for conspiracy to murder, he was released with no further action.
- A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on bail and must return to a south London police station in September.
- An 18-year-old man arrested in Harlow, Essex, on suspicion of murder was also released on bail to return in September.
The investigation into Salem Koudou’s death continues as police probe the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
