Motorist Charged After Cyclist’s Death on A32
Police have charged a motorist after a tragic cyclist death on the A32 in January. Jeanette Smith, 69, from Little Corner, Denmead, faces a charge of causing death by careless driving.
Serious Collision Investigation Launched
The charge follows a probe by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit into a crash on the A32 on January 28, just before 11.15am. The collision involved a white Citroen C3 driven by Ms Smith and 20-year-old cyclist, Mr Houghton, from Buckinghamshire.
Cyclist Dies Days After Crash
Mr Houghton was rushed to hospital but sadly died on January 30 from his injuries. Ms Smith is due to appear at portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth Magistrates Court on August 16.
