Three ruthless criminals have been slammed with a combined 75 years behind bars for plotting to trade military-grade weapons and deal drugs. The National Crime Agency (NCA) revealed the gang ran their deadly business using the encrypted EncroChat platform.
Gun and Drug Gang Locked Up for Decades
Carl Jones, Harly Wise, and Naginder Gill weren’t just pushing drugs — they were hatching plans to flood the streets with firearms. At Bolton Crown Court, Jones was handed 30 years, Wise got 25, and Gill was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Secret Arms Deals and Kidnap Plot Exposed
- Jones tried to broker a deal for an AR-15 assault rifle plus 50 rounds of 7.62mm ammo.
- Wise arranged to sell two 9mm handguns and 50 bullets, planning a meetup near Eltham, South London.
- Using aliases ‘bluffcheatah’ and ‘hungrykiller,’ Wise admitted to plotting a kidnap in Birmingham over a £350,000 debt, chillingly joking about “the paddys” lending a hand.
- Gill, aka ‘indianocean,’ was caught conspiring to supply a dangerous cocktail of illegal drugs.
Jones and Wise acted as middlemen, moving drugs between contacts for massive profits.
NCA Pledges Relentless Crackdown on Crime
A National Crime Agency spokesperson said: “Drugs and firearms crimes are often intertwined. We will keep teaming up with partners at home and abroad to protect the public from these deadly threats.”
