Brazen Burglars Nabbed Minutes After Swanley Car Heist

Two daring thieves were caught red-handed less than 15 minutes after ripping off cars from a Swanley driveway. The drama unfolded just before 1am when police were called to a burglary near Goldsel Road.

The robbers made off with jewellery, a wallet, a flashy watch, and the keys to an Audi and a Mazda. Officers quickly spotted the stolen Mazda, driven by 18-year-old Liam Madgwick, racing towards the Dartford River Crossing.

Madgwick didn’t hold back — he slammed the accelerator to 85mph in a 30mph zone and ran a red light before getting cornered in Purfleet, Essex. Just 14 minutes after the burglary call, cops had him in custody.

Meanwhile, a lone female officer tailed a Vauxhall connected to the stolen Mazda. She forced it to stop at a Barking petrol station and arrested 21-year-old Michael Allison and another man. Stolen goods were recovered from the vehicle.
