Teen Arrested Over Tragic West Ham Park Stabbing
Detectives hunting Rahaan Ahmed Amin’s killer have made a breakthrough. A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, 2 August, and is now held at an East London police station.
How It All Unfolded
The horror began on Sunday, 9 July, around 5:30pm at West Ham Park in Newham. Police and paramedics raced to the scene after receiving a 999 call about a stabbing.
They found 16-year-old Rahaan with a stab wound. Despite emergency treatment from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, Rahaan died in hospital the next day.
Investigation and Arrests So Far
A post-mortem on 12 July confirmed Rahaan died from a stab wound to the heart. Since then, five others have been caught up in the probe:
- A 16-year-old charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He faces court at the Old Bailey on 3 October.
- A 16-year-old and a 14-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder but released on bail pending further inquiries.
- Two other 16-year-olds arrested at the scene but released without charge.
