Southampton Man Locked Up for Raping Teen Girl in Ventnor
A 50-year-old man from Southampton has been jailed for nine years after raping a 17-year-old girl in Ventnor back in 2019. Liam Morrow, from Hartington Road, targeted the Isle of Wight teenager while she was out socialising with friends.
How the Horror Unfolded
- On 9th February 2019, the victim was with friends in Ventnor.
- Morrow approached the group and joined them, despite being much older.
- Both Morrow and the girl consumed alcohol during the day.
- Later, Morrow isolated the victim and raped her against her will.
The girl made it clear she never consented to the attack.
Justice Delivered After Tough Investigation
Specialist officers supported the victim throughout a complex probe. Morrow was charged with rape and assault by penetration under the Sexual Offences Act.
On Monday 9th August at Isle of Wight Crown Court, he received: – Nine years for rape – Seven years for assault by penetration
Both sentences will run concurrently, meaning Morrow will serve nine years behind bars.

“I hope this sentence provides some comfort to the victim,” said investigating officer DC Jessica Hughes. “Morrow is now behind bars where he can’t harm vulnerable young people again.”
