Armed Police Swarm Scene at Cambridge Court
A man was arrested today following a tense firearms incident at a residential address in Cambridge Court. The drama unfolded just after 11am when armed Metropolitan Police raced to the scene amid reports of a man threatening another person with a gun.
No Injuries, Situation Contained
Police swiftly moved in, putting up cordons and shutting several nearby roads including parts of Ashurst Road and Holmdale Terrace. An abandoned building was surrounded by armed officers during the response.
Despite residents hearing a loud bang, it’s not yet confirmed if the firearm was discharged. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Met Police Confirm Arrest, Ongoing Investigation
“A man has just been arrested for possession of a firearm and remains in police custody,”
said a Met Police spokesperson at 2:41pm. Earlier, police reassured the public the incident appeared isolated with no wider threat.
