Son Charged with Murder of Pensioner Mary Steel in Shocking Godalming Case
Police have charged Nicholas Anthony Steel, 57, with the murder of his mother, 79-year-old Mary Steel, following a tragic incident in Farncombe, Godalming.
Tragedy in Farncombe: Pensioner Dies from Serious Injury
Paramedics were called to a property in Wey Court at around 9.20am on Sunday, 29 October after concerns for Mary Steel’s safety. She was found with a serious injury and despite emergency treatment at the scene, she was pronounced dead just before 10.15am.
Son Arrested and Charged
Nicholas Steel, from Meadrow, was initially arrested on suspicion of assault. He was admitted to hospital but has now been transferred to police custody. He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on 4 November 2017.
