Lloyd McNicholas Gets Over Two Years Behind Bars

Lloyd McNicholas, of Alsager, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday, 9 March. He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to intentionally strangling the victim and intimidating a witness.

Gruesome Attack Followed by Threats to Keep Quiet

On 29 August last year, a heated argument broke out between McNicholas and the woman at her Smallthorne home. In a chilling assault, he strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness.

Just days later, on 4 September, McNicholas threatened the victim to keep silent about the attack.

Denial Then U-Turn in Court

Despite initially denying any wrongdoing during police interviews, McNicholas reversed his stance and admitted the charges in court.
