Manhunt Underway After Prisoner Dashes From Van in Southend
Prisoner Breaks Free Mid-Transport
Police are scrambling to catch 31-year-old Kemp after he made a bold break from a prison transport van yesterday. The escape happened right after a hearing at Southend Magistrates’ Court. Witnesses last saw Kemp near The Clusters, sprinting towards 1 Avenue.
Police Warn Public: Do Not Approach Kemp
Kemp is described as a white male, around 6ft tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit when he fled custody. Authorities say he isn’t considered dangerous but have urged the public to call 999 immediately if spotted and avoid any direct contact.
“We’re carrying out extensive enquiries to trace Kemp,” said Superintendent Jamie Gingell. “We ask anyone with information to call us or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
