Man Arrested Over Young Woman’s Murder in Mapperley
Adedapo Adegbola, 40, is in custody charged with the murder of 23-year-old Stephanie Irons. The shocking killing happened in Mapperley after police were called out on Tuesday night over fears for Stephanie’s safety.
Tragic Discovery Sparks Murder Probe
Emergency crews found Stephanie – known to friends as Steph – dead at a home on Westdale Lane West, Mapperley, just after 10pm on 21 October. Police launched a murder investigation straight away. It’s believed Adegbola and Stephanie knew each other.
Suspect Held and Set to Appear in Court
Adegbola was arrested the following day and charged on Friday. He remains in custody ahead of his Nottingham Magistrates’ Court appearance on Saturday 25 October. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of helping an offender has been released on strict bail conditions.
