Tragic Death of Basingstoke Nurse in Freak Micheldever Crash
A 24-year-old nurse from Basingstoke has died in a bizarre early morning crash after a deer suddenly darted in front of her car on the A33 near Micheldever.
Deer Causes Fatal Collision
Ivory Lapitan was driving her Peugeot 306 when the deer leapt into her path. Her vehicle struck the animal before crashing into a tree shortly after 6.30am yesterday. Emergency services were called by a shaken motorist following behind.
Victim Was University Student and Beloved Friend
Ms Lapitan, who lived locally, was reportedly on her way to study at the University of Southampton. An inquest into the fatal collision has now been opened and adjourned.
