Paedophile Sex Offender Matthew Reilly Busted in Massive UK Probe
Law enforcement has arrested Matthew Reilly, a registered sex offender, after a major UK-wide investigation. The case erupted when an indecent image of a child appeared on Snapchat, traced back to Reilly’s account.
The Investigation Unfolds
The probe kicked off in January last year after police spotted the vile image. Officers raided Reilly’s Halesowen home, arresting the 39-year-old and confiscating his electronic devices for forensic checks. Under questioning, Reilly admitted to sexual chats with girls on Snapchat.
Horrific Evidence Discovered
Forensics uncovered shocking material on Reilly’s phone, including indecent images of children and a Snapchat account where he posed as a 15-year-old boy. He targeted girls aged 11 to 15 for sexual conversations over four months from October 2021 to January 2022. Even more chilling, he used a dating site to meet victims, confirming their ages and coercing them with lewd compliments.
OnlyFans Lure and Dark Deeds
The evidence revealed a sinister twist: Reilly pressured some girls into explicit activities and forced one victim into a sexual act. He promised them cash money through OnlyFans, enticing them with the prospect of earning from sexual content.
Nationwide Nightmare: 40 Victims Identified
The investigation found 40 victims spread across 27 police forces from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Police worked closely with multiple forces to protect these children and build a rock-solid case.
Facing 52 Sexual Offence Charges
Reilly was re-arrested on September 29, 2023, charged with 52 sexual offences. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to 18 counts of sexual communication with a child under 16, one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and five counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
He also admitted to eight counts of making indecent images of children, including the most serious Category A charges. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing indecent images (Category C).
Matthew Reilly now faces the full weight of justice for his heinous crimes against children across the UK.
