Deputy Nursing Boss Banned After Pedestrian Crash in Silver Jaguar
Dr Maxmiller Buyanga, 59, a senior nurse from Swindon, has been slapped with a driving ban after a shocking collision left a pedestrian fighting for her life. On Sunday, 13 July 2025, Buyanga, then Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing at Great Western Hospital, was driving a silver Jaguar I-PACE on Kennedy Drive, Eldene, when she hit a 45-year-old woman.
Horrific Crash Pins Victim Between Cars
The pedestrian was caught between Buyanga’s Jaguar and a parked Volkswagen Golf outside the SR Motor Group showroom. The impact smashed the Golf’s bonnet and caused devastating, possibly life-changing injuries to the woman.
Emergency crews and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance raced to the scene. The injured woman was airlifted to Southmead Hospital’s Major Trauma Centre in Bristol for urgent treatment.
Court Hands Buyanga Driving Ban, Fine, and Costs
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 24 March 2026, Buyanga pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless driving. She received a 12-month driving ban, fined £2,031, and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs plus an £812 victim surcharge.
Buyanga, a local resident of Bowleymead, Eldene, now faces the harsh fallout from a day that changed lives forever.
