Man Charged with Manslaughter in Baby’s Death
A 38-year-old man from Stafford has been arrested and charged with manslaughter after a three-month-old baby boy died in hospital following emergency treatment. The infant was admitted on 12 October 2023 and tragically passed away eight days later, on 20 October.
Serious Child Neglect and Assault Charges Filed
Gareth Stark appeared today at North Staffordshire Justice Centre. Besides manslaughter, he faces assault and child neglect charges linked to causing unnecessary suffering to the baby.
Next Hearing Scheduled for January
Stark remains in custody and is set to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 9 January 2024. Police say the investigation into this heartbreaking case is ongoing.
Staffordshire Police said: “A man has appeared in court after he was charged with manslaughter following the death of a baby.”
