High-Speed Chase Ends With Two Arrests After Stolen Car Rammed To Stop
Crazy Early Morning Pursuit Through Medway
Two men were snared after a stolen Vauxhall Astra was slammed to a halt in a heart-pounding police chase across Medway in the early hours of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
At 1:50am, Kent Police spotted the suspicious car entering the Medway Tunnel. Officers hit the blue lights to pull it over — but the driver smashed the accelerator instead, fleeing toward Strood and then Rochester at breakneck speed.
Dangerous Driving Triggers Tactical Police Response
The driver recklessly weaved through traffic, forcing officers to react swiftly. Near Blue Bell Hill, police deployed a stinger device, puncturing the Astra’s tyres and slowing it down. Three police vehicles then boxed the car in and brought the chase to a safe end.
Two Local Men Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
- Aged 36 and 22, the suspects were taken into custody at the scene.
- No injuries or damage to police vehicles were reported.
- Medway roads saw temporary disruption during the drama.
“This was a high-risk situation involving a stolen vehicle being driven dangerously through residential areas. Thanks to decisive action and the safe deployment of a stinger, officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest two suspects without injury to the public,” said a Kent Police spokesperson.
Police Call for Witnesses
Kent Police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or information about the pursuit to come forward as the investigation continues.
