TikTok Star’s Murder Trial Collapses Over Jury Chaos
The high-profile murder trial of TikTok influencer Mahek Bukhari and seven others has been suddenly scrapped due to “jury irregularities.” The case will now restart fresh in 2023.
Shock Delay at Crown Court
On December 2nd, Judge Mr Justice Saini revealed at 1 Crown Court that the trial was halted because of an internal jury problem. “The discharge was due to jury irregularity,” he said.
Crucially, the judge confirmed that the irregularity was not connected to the behaviour of the defendants or the victims’ families. It was strictly a jury matter.
Retrial Set for the New Year
All eight accused, detained since March this year, will face the same murder and manslaughter charges in the upcoming retrial. They all deny the allegations.
Who’s on Trial?
