BMX Bike Attack in Broad Daylight
Three hoodlums launched a shocking assault on a biker at Orton Malborne BMX Track on 12 May. Josiah Charles, 19, Yasir Mohammed, 20, and a 16-year-old punk targeted their victim just after 3pm. They brutally punched him in the head, demanding his pricey bike. Luckily, a mate caught the terrifying attack on video and called the cops.
Thugs Run Off Empty-Handed but Get Caught Quick
The trio fled without stealing the bike after threatening the second man when he returned. The victim suffered nasty bruises but avoided hospital. Police used the footage to ID Charles and the teenager, arresting them the very next day. Mohammed was caught two weeks later roaming Peterborough city centre.
Sentenced for Shocking Attempted Robbery
All three denied attempted robbery but were convicted in December. On 12 January, Charles was slapped with a three-year jail term, while Mohammed got two years and eight months behind bars. Both had six-month suspended sentences activated. Mohammed also faces a seven-year Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from Peterborough. The 16-year-old’s sentencing day is set for 8 May.
