St Albans Man Busted Over Spate of Car Thefts and Burglaries

Liam Wells, 28, stands accused of a string of crimes across the Riverview estate, with most offences occurring on just one day – Sunday, 21 February 2022.

Rapid Police Action Leads to Arrest

TheChief Constable’s Crime Squad at Kent Police sprang into action after reports came in. They secured a warrant and arrested Wells at his St Albans Gardens home on Tuesday, 1 March.

Heavy Charges: Burglary, Theft, Fraud and More

  • Two counts of burglary linked to stolen cars and a bank card.
  • Fraudulent use of the stolen bank card.
  • Theft from three parked vehicles – including a handbag, sunglasses, and pricey cosmetics.
  • 10 attempted burglaries and 10 counts of vehicle interference.
  • A further theft charge for stealing tools from a vehicle on 17 February.

Remanded in Custody, Next Court Date Set

Wells was remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 3 March. He remains held and is due at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday, 31 March.
