Bracknell Duo Jailed for High-Value Car Theft Spree
Charles Boraman, 22, from Nevelle Close, Binfield, Bracknell, and Cory Heath, 20, of Forest Green, Bracknell, have been sentenced after pleading guilty to conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.
Drug Charges Add to Boraman’s Jail Time
Boraman also admitted possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs. He was slapped with a hefty sentence of 6 years and 3 months behind bars.
Heath, meanwhile, avoided prison with an 18-month suspended sentence. He must complete 18 hours unpaid work and follow a rehabilitation order.
High-Tech Theft Gang Targeted Range Rovers
The pair were convicted at Reading Crown Court on Thursday (16/3) after a complex investigation into a string of keyless car thefts between May and September 2022.
The criminals used an electronic signal relaying device to unlock and steal high-value vehicles within minutes. Most stolen cars were Range Rovers, but other luxury and commercial vehicles were also targeted.
False number plates were slapped on the stolen cars to dodge police detection.
Bracknell Police Crack Down on Crime Duo
Detective Constables Kelly Turner and Megan Walmsley led the probe from the Bracknell & Wokingham Priority Crime Team.
“Boraman and Heath were involved in a conspiracy to steal high value cars,” said Detective Turner.
“We are grateful to the victims and witnesses whose support helped us build a strong case resulting in conviction. It was a huge team effort.”
“The impact of having your vehicle stolen cannot be underestimated. Thames Valley Police will always pursue offenders and deliver justice.”
