Drugs Den Raided in Bilborough – Five Arrested

Police swooped on a Bracebridge Drive home in Bilborough after tipping off a suspected drugs den. The house was reportedly taken over by dealers against the owner’s will, a nasty tactic known as ‘cuckooing’.

Class A Drugs and Cash Seized

City West Operation Reacher officers burst in at 1.40pm on Tuesday 28 February, finding five people inside. A search uncovered Class A drugs, believed to be heroin, large amounts of cash, and multiple mobile phones.

Two suspects even tried to hide more Class A drugs in their underpants when taken into custody. Three males, aged 21, 19, and 17, were arrested for possession with intent to supply.

Burglary Connection: Two More Arrests

Further inquiries linked the other two people found in the raid to a burglary from the night before at a Bramerton Road home in Wollaton. Stolen items included a TV, clothes, and cash.

Two men, aged 34 and 44, were arrested for burglary. All five remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Police Vow to Tackle ‘Cuckooing’ and Drug Crime

“Thanks to this proactive warrant, we shut down a suspected drugs den, seized Class A drugs, and arrested suspects linked to a burglary,” said Sergeant Steve Willetts of Nottinghamshire Police.

“Cuckooing is a vile tactic where drug dealers exploit vulnerable people. It harms communities and won’t be tolerated.”

“We urge anyone with information to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
