Antisocial Behaviour Spurs Police Action

On Friday 21 October 2022, cops on patrol in the New Hythe Lane area were called out to reports of antisocial behaviour involving several motorcycles.

Officers soon spotted one suspect parked on a moped. When he tried to make a getaway, he spectacularly fell off the bike.

Suspect Flees on Foot but Gets Caught

The 25-year-old man from maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone ran off on foot, but police were hot on his heels and hauled him in quickly.

Arrested on Multiple Charges

He was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving without a licence or insurance. The suspect has since been released pending further investigation.

Stolen Moped to Be Returned

Investigations confirmed the moped was stolen from the Swanscombe area. Police have contacted the rightful owner, and the bike will be returned to them shortly.
