Serious Crash on A82 Near Old Kilpatrick: Police Seek Witnesses

Police in Dumbarton are hunting for witnesses after a nasty crash on the A82 near Old Kilpatrick on Sunday, September 24. The smash happened just before 5pm and involved a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 19-year-old woman.

Volkswagen Polo Loses Control, Woman Hospitalised

According to early reports, the young driver lost control of her Polo heading westbound. The car then veered off the road, causing a serious incident. Emergency teams responded fast and rushed the woman to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Staff have confirmed her condition is serious.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Sgt Kenny Malaney from the Road Policing Unit is leading the investigation. He’s pleading for anyone who saw the crash or was driving nearby at the time to get in touch. “Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are continuing,” said Sgt Malaney. “Drivers in the area may have dashcam footage or information that could help us.”
