Brenda Edwards, Loose Women panellist, revealed the heartbreaking cause behind her son Jamal’s death this February at just 31. The music entrepreneur, famed for launching careers like Ed Sheeran and Dave, died from cardiac arrhythmia linked to recreational drug use.
A Mother’s Pain and Message
Brenda said she was “in shock” and heartbreak after learning the truth. “I want to apologise to everyone who loved, admired, and respected my son. Jamal had the world at his fingertips and a real zest for life. He was taken far too soon,” she said.
She urged people to understand that “these types of substances are extremely unpredictable,” warning that one wrong choice with drugs can have fatal consequences.

Brenda and Jamal’s sister Tanisha have been overwhelmed by public support. Brenda added: “No mother or loved one should suffer like we have. We hope Jamal’s story encourages others to think twice before using recreational drugs.”
