Police swoop on suspects in chilling teen exploitation probe
Officers carried out multiple raids across Portsmouth and Havant on Tuesday, 21 August, snagging nine people linked to a disturbing investigation into criminal and sexual exploitation of local teenagers.
Victims get vital support amid ongoing probe
Affected youths have been identified and are receiving care from Portsmouth City Council and partner agencies. Portsmouth District Commander Supt. Maggie said: “This is a complex case involving specialist teams. It will take time to untangle all the details.”
“Gathering victim evidence is delicate. They are being fully supported throughout, and this support won’t stop anytime soon.”
Police urge public to come forward
Supt. Maggie added: “We’re working closely with partners and the community to get to the bottom of this. If you think you can help, please get in touch — whether with the police or a trusted social worker or support worker. Anyone worried can also contact their local Neighbourhood Policing team.”
