Police say the vehicles were nicked from homes near Plympton. Detective Constable Andrew Trott-Rodgers revealed the telehandler and truck were stolen from Smithaleigh between the evening of 1 February and early hours of 2 February.
A Nissan Navara was pinched from Downfield Drive just before the raid. The criminals treated themselves to a backroad getaway, dodging CCTV after a clear recce.
All stolen cars but the telehandler were torched near Sparkwell paintball site in a bid to wipe their tracks.
Police Hunt Witnesses & Tip-Offs
Officers want locals to check dashcams and doorbell footage from the early hours of 2 February around Glen Road, Downfield Drive, and Smithaleigh.
They’re also after Airbnb hosts and B&B owners who had bookings from four men over the weekend of 31 January to 1 February.
“We believe this was a highly organised gang linked to similar ram-raids nationwide,” said Detective Trott-Rodgers.
