Body Found on M25: Woman Dead After Hit-and-Run

The M25 is shut clockwise this morning (Saturday 29 February) between Junction 8, Reigate and Junction 10, Wisley. A 36-year-old woman was found dead on the carriageway just after 6:15am.

Emergency services confirmed the woman died at the scene. Her family have been informed.

Hit-and-Run Suspected

Sergeant Andy Audsley from the Roads Policing Team said: “We are trying to establish how the woman, who was a pedestrian, came to be injured on the carriageway. We believe she was involved in a collision with a vehicle that left the scene.”

The pedestrian was wearing a maroon coat and trousers at the time.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

  • Police urge anyone who saw the woman or the incident to call 101.
  • Quote crime reference P20048965.
  • Drivers are advised to follow diversion signs while the investigation continues.

Sergeant Audsley added: “We thank motorists for their patience during this road closure.”
