Teen Stabbed in Redhill as Police Launch Major Hunt
Redhill residents were rattled by a heavy police presence overnight after a teenage boy was stabbed near Princess Way at about 10:45pm on Monday.
Suspect Nabbed After Helicopter Search
A 20-year-old man from Redhill was arrested nearby shortly after the attack, suspected of causing grievous bodily harm. The arrest followed a police helicopter search, and the suspect remains in custody.
The victim was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Local Police Ramp Up Patrols to Tackle Violence
Inspector Alex Maguire, Borough Commander for Reigate and Banstead, addressed concerns: “We know the increased police presence and recent youth fights in the town centre will worry residents. We’re prioritising anti-social behaviour and violence with extra patrols and dispersal orders.”
He added: “Our investigation is ongoing. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
