Massive Blaze Destroys Three Bournemouth Beach Huts, Spreads to Heathland
A huge fire tore through three beach huts on Bournemouth’s Westcliff Promenade before roaring towards nearby heathland and a hotel. Emergency crews rushed to evacuate sunbathers from the sands as flames threatened the popular seaside spot.
Firefighters Battle Fierce Flames Near Bournemouth Pier
Wilts Fire and Rescue sent eight fire engines to the scene to tackle the blaze close to Bournemouth Pier. Firefighters worked flat out to contain the rapidly spreading fire.
Police Establish Cordon, Urge Public to Steer Clear
Police have set up a strict cordon around the area and warned the public to avoid the beach while crews battle the blaze.
“Please avoid the area, and if you’re on the beach as you read this, please stay well clear and allow our crews to continue their extremely hard work to bring this fire under control,” said emergency services.
