Fire Rips Through Three Beach Huts
A huge fire has ripped through three beach huts on Bournemouth’s Westcliffe Promenade, quickly spreading to nearby heathland. The inferno started in one hut before engulfing two others in a matter of minutes.
Sunbathers Evacuated as Fire Approaches Hotel
Emergency services swiftly evacuated sunbathers from the beach as flames threatened a nearby hotel. Police have set up a safety cordon and are urging the public to stay far away from the area.
Fire Crews Battle Blaze with Eight Engines
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue deployed eight fire engines to tackle the fast-moving blaze close to Bournemouth Pier. They warned beachgoers to “stay well clear” and give crews space to work hard to bring the fire under control.
“Please avoid the area, and if you’re on the beach as you read this, please stay well clear and allow our crews to continue to work extremely hard to bring this fire under control,” fire officials said.
