Teen Slashed in Brutal Sword Attack in West Ham Park

Detectives are hunting a gang after a 17-year-old boy was viciously slashed during a terrifying assault in West Ham.

Teen Targeted After College

The victim was walking home with friends just after 6pm on Tuesday, 17 April, when trouble struck at Star Lane Park. A group of hooded males suddenly charged towards them—one wielding a sword.

His friends scattered, but the teen was chased into Birch Close. He slipped and fell, only for the gang to catch up, surround him, and slash his right arm as he tried to defend himself.

Suspects Flee Scene on DLR Train

  • Suspect 1: Asian male, black hat, blue padded jacket over green hoodie, green tracksuit trousers, brown shoes.
  • Suspect 2: Black teenager, black jacket with ‘Crosshatch’ down left arm, black trousers, black shoes.
  • Suspect 3: White man, short brown beard, green hooded jacket over dark blue hoodie, blue jeans, white trainers.
  • Suspect 4: Black man with beard, dark blue jacket over grey hoodie, dark blue trousers, white trainers.

They were last seen boarding a DLR train at Star Lane.

Victim Recovering After Hospital Treatment

The London Ambulance Service rushed the injured boy to an East London hospital where he received stitches for his slash wounds before being discharged.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

“This is a nasty unprovoked attack on a teenager who was walking home from college,” said Detective Constable Georgina Hebron, Newham Borough.
