Police Probe Suspicious Behaviour and Attempted Burglary in Bakersfield
Officers are investigating three reports of suspicious activity and an attempted burglary on Friday 10 February 2023. But police have rushed to reassure locals that no serious break-ins have happened, despite worrying rumours swirling on social media over the weekend.
Chief Inspector Quells Burglary Fears
Chief Inspector Chris Pearson from Nottinghamshire Police commented:
“We have been made aware of concerns about aggravated burglaries in the Bakersfield area where people feared homes had been broken into.
I want to reassure residents no such incidents have been reported to us recently.
We are, however, investigating four other suspicious incidents from Friday and have boosted patrols to keep the area safe.
If anyone is worried or has information, please speak to an officer. We also welcome CCTV or dash-cam footage to assist our inquiries.”
Details of Suspicious Incidents Surface
- A burglary on Dovedale Road saw a lock cut to enter a rear garden, but nothing was stolen.
- On Ferndale Road, up to four men and a woman were reported knocking on doors asking for money around 9.15pm on 10 February.
- Reports also came in of a woman knocking on doors in Langdale Road.
- At Ipswich Circus, a gate was kicked open, raising alarm among residents.
