Second Teen Dies After Horror Shropshire Crash

A second teenager has tragically died following a serious car crash in Tong, Shropshire late on Friday night (March 14). Two others remain in hospital with life-threatening and life-changing injuries.

Fatal Crash on Offoxey Road

West Mercia Police reported the smash happened just after 11pm on Offoxey Road. A silver Audi A1 crashed, prompting an urgent emergency response. Despite desperate efforts by bystanders and paramedics, an 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other passengers, all 17-year-old boys, were rushed to hospital. One has sadly since died. Another is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, while the third is stable but faces life-changing consequences.

Families Plead for Privacy

The families of the victims have asked for privacy during this devastating time. Police have withheld the names of those involved.

Police Call for Witnesses

Inspector Steph Arrowsmith of West Mercia Police described the collision as an “incredibly sad incident.” She said:

“First and foremost, our thoughts remain with the family of the young men who have died, and those who are seriously injured. We are asking for the public’s help to understand what happened last night.”

Officers are urging anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.

Other Vehicles May Hold Crucial Clues

Inspector Arrowsmith revealed the Audi A1 was spotted travelling alongside a red Vauxhall Corsa and a black VW Golf at the time. Although these cars were not involved in the collision, police believe details about them could jog witnesses’ memories.

No Arrests as Investigation Continues

West Mercia Police confirmed no arrests have been made yet. Enquiries are ongoing as officers piece together how the crash happened.
