Masked thug raids Twyford Co-op, staff chased suspect on silver bike

Police want to track down this man after a brazen robbery at the Co-op on Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw, last Saturday night.

Violent raid caught on CCTV

At around 8.30pm, the suspect stormed into a staff-only area and pushed a female employee to the floor. He threatened her, demanding she open the safe. About £180 was grabbed and stuffed into his bag.

Another staff member entered and was grabbed before both victims managed to flee out the only exit.

Swift getaway on two wheels

The robber fled via the fire exit, hopping on a silver bike. He sped down Penrose Close before turning onto Stamshaw Road.

Nearby locals in the Mother Shipton pub reportedly gave chase, trying to nab the suspect.

  • Build: Skinny to medium, with a skinny face
  • Complexion: Pale
  • Hair: Dark
  • Clothing: Blue baseball cap with small red logo at the back, dark long-sleeved jacket, dark trousers
  • Carrying: CEX bag

He tried to hide part of his face, but police hope someone will recognise him from the CCTV image released.
