Evacuation Flights Ended at Wadi Saeedna
The UK government stopped evacuation flights from Wadi Saeedna airfield after demand dropped and the area became too unstable to operate safely.
Operation Praised but Coming to a Close
More than 1,200 troops from the Royal Marines, 16 Air Assault Brigade, and Royal Air Force have joined the massive evacuation effort. Foreign Office minister Andrew Mitchell called the mission “extremely successful” but warned it can’t go on forever amid the dangerous conditions.
