A small but noisy group from Just Stop Oil stormed the streets of Brighton this afternoon, causing traffic chaos and delays.
Protest Route Sparks City Disruption
The protesters kicked off at The Level before marching down to the seafront and winding their way along West Street. They wrapped up their demonstration at the iconic Clock Tower, attracting curious onlookers.
Traffic Chaos, But Emergency Access Honoured
Traffic and buses hit hold-ups due to the protest, but the activists quickly moved aside to let an ambulance with flashing blue lights speed through.
Sussex Police Maintain Peaceful Control
“Police attended a protest which started just after 2pm in Grand Parade, Brighton on Saturday, February 18,” confirmed Sussex Police.
“Officers are engaging with the protestors to facilitate a peaceful protest and minimise disruption to the public.”
