Man Arrested Over Missing Mum-of-Two Released on Bail
A man in his 50s, arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of missing mum-of-two Nazire Koreli, has been released on bail, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
The unnamed suspect was detained on Sunday evening, March 10, at a residential property in the Bexley area. Detectives from Specialist Crime South have been searching the house for several days, combing it for evidence and clues about 54-year-old Nazire’s whereabouts. Nazire has not been seen since September 2024.
Forensic Teams Scour ‘Welling Horror House’ for Clues
Despite her last known sighting months ago, Nazire was only reported missing to police on February 28, 2025, triggering an urgent investigation. Forensic specialists have spent three days at the Welling property conducting detailed searches, including Kastle-Meyer blood testing.

Nazire is described as slim, with light brown hair and olive skin. She had a close circle of friends and acquaintances in Bexley, and detectives are calling on the public to come forward with information that might help find her.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Since receiving this report, our officers have made multiple enquiries to locate Nazire. We are keeping an open mind, and this is currently being managed as a missing person investigation.”
“Officers arrested a man in connection with Nazire’s disappearance. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
“Nazire had many friends in the Bexley area, so we are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen her between September 2024 and March 2025.”
Specialist teams remain at the property, continuing detailed forensic work. Police have not ruled out foul play and stress the investigation is active and ongoing.
