Oxford Vaccine Trial Paused Over Blood Clot Fears
The trial of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in children has been paused. The UK’s medicines regulator is probing a possible link between the vaccine and rare blood clots found in adults. Meanwhile, France’s hospitals are buckling under pressure. ICU admissions for Covid reached 5,626 – the highest since April 20, 2020, during France’s first lockdown. The sharp rise continues despite the country entering its third lockdown. This ICU figure also surpasses the previous peak of 4,919 set in the second lockdown from late October to mid-December 2020.
