Emergency teams launched a frantic search after a man in his 70s with dementia got separated from his family while visiting Walmer Castle in Deal on Saturday, 4th March 2023.
Lifeboat Joins Coastguard in Major Rescue Operation
The RNLI lifeboat from Walmer teamed up with Kent Police, Coastguard, and search and rescue crews from Deal and Langdon. For hours, they scoured a wide area — including the sea — to find the missing pensioner.
Happy Ending as Missing Man Found Safe
Just after 5pm, the tense wait ended. The elderly man was discovered safe and sound and quickly reunited with his family. Thankfully, he was unharmed after the ordeal.
