A259 Westbound Reopens After Royal Albion Hotel Blaze

Brighton and Hove Council has confirmed the westbound carriageway of the A259 will reopen tonight, Thursday 3rd August. This follows the devastating fire that tore through the Royal Albion Hotel on 15th July.

Westbound traffic can now return to normal routes. However, eastbound drivers must still follow ongoing diversions.

Eastbound Traffic Still Diverted

While the westbound stretch reopens, eastbound lanes remain closed. Motorists are urged to stick to alternative routes provided by the council.

A259 to Shut Both Ways for Pride Parade

Plan ahead this weekend! The A259 will be fully closed in both directions on Saturday from 9am to 4pm to accommodate the Brighton Pride Parade. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternative travel plans.

Stay tuned for updates and road advice from Brighton and Hove Council as recovery continues.
