Serious Collision Shuts A3M Northbound at Clanfield – Drivers Urged to Avoid Area
A3M Closed After Late-Night Smash
Police have shut the northbound carriageway of the A3M at Junction 1 for Clanfield following a serious crash. The incident happened around 11.30pm on Sunday. Authorities are asking drivers to exit at Junction 2 and avoid the area.
Single-Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian
The crash involved a single vehicle and a pedestrian walking on the unlit carriageway. The closure affects the road up to the A272 Junction 1 South, with northernbound traffic diverted. Signed diversions are in place, and investigations are expected to continue into the early hours.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sergeant Andrew Gwyer of the Roads Policing Unit leading the inquiry said:
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to come forward. Drivers are urged to check their in-car camera footage to see if the pedestrian was captured.”
