They launched a critical medical transfer from Seaclose Park in Newport, calling in the heavy-hitting Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 – a cutting-edge Leonardo AW189 – to rush a patient to a mainland hospital.

The daring rescue was expertly coordinated by the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre, working seamlessly with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and the 111 Service. The 8-ton powerhouse helicopter blasted off in the early hours, its roar reportedly waking local residents nearby.
