Blazing Inferno at West Drayton Coal Depot

Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters are battling a massive blaze at an old coal depot on Tavistock Road, West Drayton. Flames have engulfed a container, an industrial conveyor belt, 15 vans, and three articulated lorries.

Smoke Warning for Locals

Station Manager Jon Holt, at the scene, warned: “The fire is very visible and producing a lot of smoke. Residents and businesses should keep windows and doors shut. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.”

Emergency Response in Full Force

  • The Brigade received over 55 emergency calls since the fire broke out at 2.15pm.
  • Fire crews from Hillingdon, Heathrow, and nearby stations have joined the fight.
  • About 15 people evacuated the yard before the firefighters arrived.
  • Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
  • The cause of the fire remains unknown.
